Full read-write Claude connector for Nutshell
Make Claude log activities and move deals in Nutshell
Stop typing CRM updates by hand after every call. Claude creates leads, logs calls and notes against the right record, and advances deals through your pipeline, with stage changes and reassignments waiting for your approval.
Nutshell is a sales CRM and pipeline tool that small and mid-size teams use to track leads, contacts, and deals. People want Claude to do more than look up records: to create leads, log activities, and move deals through stages on their behalf.
What is a Nutshell MCP server?
A Nutshell MCP server is a small hosted service that exposes Nutshell's data and actions to Claude over the Model Context Protocol, so Claude can manage contacts, deals, and pipeline inside your own account. We build it as a custom connector with separate read and write tools, and destructive actions stay gated behind your approval.
What can Nutshell's current connector do today?
Nutshell ships an official MCP connector for Claude, but it is read-only: it can look up and analyze your pipeline data and cannot change anything in the account. A custom connector adds the scoped write actions that read-only tool set leaves out, like creating leads, logging activities, and advancing deal stages, with human-in-the-loop controls on the changes that matter.
What does full read-write Nutshell access unlock?
Full read-write Nutshell access lets Claude create and update leads, add and edit contacts and companies, log calls and notes against the right record, move deals between pipeline stages, and assign owners or tasks. The CRM upkeep that used to mean manual data entry happens where the pipeline already lives.
- Create a new lead and attach it to the right contact and company
- Log a call, note, or activity against an existing lead or contact
- Move a deal from one pipeline stage to the next after you approve
- Update contact or company fields to keep records current
- Assign a lead owner or create a follow-up task for a teammate
- Find leads matching a query and propose batched status updates
Can Claude create and update leads in Nutshell?
Yes. Claude can create a lead in Nutshell, attach it to the right contact and company, and update its fields to keep the record current. Creating and updating flow as scoped write tools, so the pipeline upkeep that used to mean manual data entry happens where your leads already live.
Can Claude log calls and notes in Nutshell?
Logging calls and notes is a core write action. Claude can log a call, note, or activity against an existing lead or contact, and assign a follow-up task to a teammate. It works within your account's permissions, so it only touches records that account can already reach.
Will Claude move a deal between stages in Nutshell on its own?
Moving a deal between pipeline stages is a gated action. Claude can prepare the stage change or owner reassignment and show you exactly what it will update, but it only applies after you approve. You decide which actions run automatically and which always require a confirmation step.
How a Nutshell connector works
We build a small MCP server that connects to Nutshell through its API using scoped credentials, never with more access than the account it authenticates as. Read tools (search leads, read a contact) and write tools (create lead, log activity, advance stage) are kept separate, and changes that update or reassign records can require your confirmation. If your Nutshell instance is locked down, the server can run behind IP allowlisting.
