Full read-write Claude connector for Close
Make Claude create leads, log activities, and move opportunities in Close
Stop tabbing into Close to type up calls and update the pipeline. Claude creates leads, logs the activity, and moves opportunities forward in the same conversation where you discuss the work, and outbound or destructive actions wait for your approval.
Close is a sales CRM built for inside sales teams, combining the pipeline, calling, email, and SMS in one place around leads, contacts, and opportunities. People want Claude to do more than report on the pipeline: to create leads, log activities, and move opportunities as work happens.
What is a Close MCP server?
A Close MCP server is a small hosted service that exposes Close's data and actions to Claude over the Model Context Protocol, so Claude can manage contacts, deals, and pipeline inside your own account. We build it as a custom connector with separate read and write tools, and destructive actions stay gated behind your approval.
What can Close's current connector do today?
Today, any available Close connection for Claude tends to be read-leaning or covers only a thin slice of the API, so Claude can surface leads and opportunities but often cannot reliably create or update them. A custom connector adds scoped write actions like creating leads, logging activities, and updating opportunity status with human-in-the-loop controls.
What does full read-write Close access unlock?
Full read-write Close access lets Claude create a lead with its contacts, add an opportunity in the right pipeline and status, log calls, emails, and notes, update custom fields, and assign owners, all from the same conversation where you discuss the work. The CRM upkeep that used to mean switching tabs happens inline.
- Create a new lead with its contacts and link it to the right pipeline
- Add an opportunity with its value, confidence, and status
- Log a call, email, or note as an activity on a lead
- Update an opportunity's status or move it forward after you confirm
- Set or change custom fields and the owner on a lead or contact
- Find every lead matching a smart view query and propose follow-up tasks
Can Claude create leads and opportunities in Close?
Yes. A full read-write Close connector lets Claude create a lead with its contacts, link it to the right pipeline, and add an opportunity with its value, confidence, and status. Claude does the data entry inline, instead of only reporting on leads that already exist in your account.
Can Claude log calls and update opportunity status in Close?
Yes. Claude can log a call, email, or note as an activity on a lead, set or change custom fields and owners, and move an opportunity forward once you confirm. Status changes that win or lose an opportunity are gated, so Claude prepares the update and applies it only after you approve.
Will Claude send emails or delete records in Close on its own?
No. Sending an email and deleting any record are gated write actions. Claude can prepare the message or change and show you exactly what will happen, but it runs only after you approve it. The connector authenticates as your account, so it never has more access to Close than you already do.
How a Close connector works
We build a small MCP server that authenticates to Close with OAuth and the narrowest scopes the work needs. Read tools (search leads, read opportunities) and write tools (create lead, log activity, update status) are separated, and destructive or outbound actions like deleting a record or sending an email require your confirmation. Claude only ever has the access your own Close account already has.
