Can Claude create notes from feedback in Productboard?
Yes. Creating notes from feedback works through a custom connector: Claude takes a customer quote from your conversation, files it as a note, tags it for triage, and attaches it to the right feature as a supporting insight. Lightweight read-only setups can only surface existing notes, not create them.
Can Claude update a feature's status in Productboard?
Updating a feature's status works through scoped write tools: Claude can change a feature's status, description, owner, or prioritization fields and scores. These are gated actions, so Claude prepares the update and it is applied only after you approve, keeping create and update separate from read.
Does Claude get more access to Productboard than I have?
No. Claude gets no more access to Productboard than you have. The connector authenticates with a scoped API token and inherits exactly the permissions that token carries, never broader access to your workspace, notes, or roadmap. You can narrow or revoke that token at any time.
How a Productboard connector works
We build a small MCP server that authenticates to Productboard with a scoped API token over its public API, using only the access the work needs. Read tools (search notes, list features, read roadmap) and write tools (create note, link insight, update feature) are kept separate, and create or update actions can require your confirmation before they run. Claude never has more access to your workspace than your own token already grants, and the server can sit behind IP allowlisting if your setup calls for it.
